Trip to Yulin

They traveled to Yulin to visit the orphanage where Ying Ying and Jackie lived before coming home to us.  The hotel didn't have wi-fi, so photos were delayed for a day.

"Yulin presented the most beautiful birthday cake to celebrate Ying's 13th birthday during our visit.  They also had watermelon, lycee nuts (fruit, sweet like grapes), and hot tea.  All very delicious and a wonderful surprise.  We spent almost 2 hours there.  it seemed as if everyone, our families as well as our Yulin family did not want the visit to end.  Great memory for our frist visit with hopefully more to follow in the future."  -Karen

"We were greeted at the Yulin gate by a delightful young girl who offered help with our bags.  She is 11 years old and made quick friends with Jackie and Ying."  -Karen

"The girls had fun choosing treats to bring with us on our visit to Yulin.  We also brought books, pens, paper, cards, toys, sporting equipment (soccer ball, basketball, jump ropes, hackie sacks, frizzbees).  This was their way of thanking their Yulin family for the great care they received.  Thanks to Aunt Nancy (Jackie's Aunt, who traveled with us to China in 2001) for the sports equipment."  -Karen

"The Gentis Rossi families purchased an air conditioner heating unit for Yulin.  photo taken at Department Store that morning.  The unit was delivered during the afternoon during our visit.  We were happy we could help make the children more comfortable as summer temperatures are quite high in the summer time."  -Karen

"The girls received a beautiful handmade gift.  Ying Ying and Jackie plan to find a special place to display the gift  when we return home."  -Robbin

"At the end of our visit, we gathered outside to say our goodbyes and took a group photos with our Yulin family."  -Karen

"Saying good bye at the end of our visit. The director and his staff were very welcoming and made the Yulin girls feel special."  -Robbin
